Permit Ledges
Located at the South end of Molasses Reef lies Permit Ledge, a great shallow dive site consisting of a series of sand channels running perpendicular to the shore. A short swim to Fire Coral Cave, this is a very popular spot on the reef. Large stands of Pillar Coral can be found @ 100 yards south of the main site.
Plenty of schooling fish including Barracudas, Grunts, Snappers and Parrotfish can be found at the South end of the reef, but large schools of Permit and Tarpon are also common.
A good site for new as well as experienced divers. A 25 to 30 foot maximum depth means plenty of bottom time. This is also a great drop off spot for a shallow drift dive when the current allows.
