Out of Bounds got it's name because it is at the north end of the French Reef Sanctuary, but is actually outside the sanctuary. There is a shallow ball and a deeper ball, with the shallow area being about 20-30 feet deep and the ball further out to sea is in the 25-45 foot range.
The reef doesn't magically stop at the end of the Sanctuary, it runs for miles up and down the Florida Keys.
