I always tell my students the story of how I began diving. It was entirely by accident. On vacation in Mexico, my wife and I were offered a Discover Scuba Diving experience and as soon as I took my first breath underwater, I thought, "This is for me!" When we returned home, we found a dive shop nearby and got certified. The next thing I knew, I was an instructor! Since then, I've become a Master Instructor and a specialty instructor in lots of different areas. I especially like teaching the search and recovery specialty. While teaching in Colorado, I'd bring students to Key Largo for open water and continuing education training. We would take trips with Rainbow Reef so I was a Rainbow Reef customer long before I worked here!
My wife and I moved to Key Largo several years ago and I've managed dive shops here ever since. I try to teach a class or two as often as I can and I'm particularly happy to be a part of the fantastic professional team here at Rainbow Reef Dive Center. I'm also fortunate to have been the coordinator of our renowned internship program which allowed me to work very closely with the fine young people who come to us for their professional-level dive training. My management duties no longer allow me the time to run the intern program but I'm still responsible for recruiting and I still like to get out and teach a class whenever I can.
I think it's fair to say that Rainbow Reef is one of the very best dive centers for all levels of diving. If you want to earn your entry-level, advanced, or professional ratings, Rainbow Reef is a great place to visit.
